Full specifications and pre-order dates for the Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 have been disclosed. The smartphone is expected to launch as Samsung Galaxy A82 5G in select markets and will be renamed Galaxy Quantum 2 for South Korean operator SK Telecom’s network, according to a report. It is probably the successor to the Galaxy A Quantum handset which was launched with quantum encryption technology last year. The development comes a day after live images and the launch date of the alleged smartphone were leaked online.
While some of the specs for the Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 aka Galaxy A82 5G have already been leaked by a South Korean blog, a Tweeter by tipster Tron provides more specific information on the same. First of all, the tipster mentions the name of the Samsung smartphone as the Galaxy A Quantum 2. However, live images from the retail box showed the name of the phone as the Galaxy Quantum 2.
According to the tipster, the Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 will be available for pre-order on April 13 and launch on April 23. However, there is no information on the markets in which it will debut. a pair of Galaxy Buds Live and a clear case, as a pre-order gift.
As for the specs, the tipster says the Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 aka Galaxy A82 5G will sport a 6.7-inch full-HD + Super-AMOLED Edge display (1080×2400 pixels) with a 120Hz refresh rate and brightness of 800 nits. Live images showed the phone had a center cutout. The smartphone would also have an integrated fingerprint sensor.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 aka Galaxy A82 5G would be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, associated with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. A previous report stated that the phone would be equipped with a Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) chip to increase data encryption on the device.
In the optical department, the Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2, aka Galaxy A82 5G, would feature a 64-megapixel main sensor in the triple rear camera setup. This camera is said to come with optical image stabilization. The handset is said to contain a 4,500mAh battery with a 15W charger included in the box. Reportedly, the phone supports 25W fast charging.
Other features of the smartphone include Samsung Pay with Secure Magnetic Transmission (MST), IP67 water and dust resistance rating, Dolby Atmos and a dedicated microSD slot to expand the built-in storage. The phone weighs 203g and the retail box may come with a case and wired headphones.
