Their seemingly clandestine affair quickly became a major plot point for the series, with Piper being estranged from her husband, Jordan Green, at the time of filming.

In a dramatic scene on MKR in April 2019, Veronica exposed her teammate for sleeping with their co-star and rival Victor, although it was later alleged that everyone already knew.

Speaking to news.com.au at the time, Veronica said her friend was treated unfairly by the show’s ‘sex scandal’ edit.

“ Everyone knew what was going on between Victor and Piper, ” she said, arguing that the show’s other contestants were all aware of the relationship.

Seven disputed several of her claims, including whether she was considered an employee of the network, suffered an injury and became incapacitated, and whether her employment could be considered a significant contributing factor.

They also argued that her complaint was not filed within the acceptable timeframe and questioned whether she had “ misperceived events, ” according to a published decision of the NSW Personal Injury Commission.

The case was first heard by conference call in December 2020, in which Piper agreed to an independent medical examination arranged by Seven.
