Indian electric vehicle start-up Simple Energy is about to launch the company’s flagship electric scooter. Described as a long-range electric scooter, an advanced prototype is already being tested, and the Bengaluru-based company has completely put the emphasis on what it describes as a world-class product. According to an official statement, the flagship electric scooter, named Mark 2, will be the fastest electric scooter when launched in India. The Mark 2 will come with a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, offer a claimed range of 240 km in eco mode, a top speed of 100 km / h and accelerate from 0 to 50 km / h in just 3.6. seconds.

Simple Energy has already finalized the first phase of its plant in Whitefield, Bengaluru, with an initial production capacity of 50,000 units. According to the press release, the company has innovated the powertrain and software that is supposed to make the electric scooter smart enough than any other electric scooter on the market. The electric scooter will boast the largest cargo space in India’s electric vehicle industry, and will also have a mid-drive motor, removable battery, and smart features like touchscreen console, navigation on board and bluetooth connectivity.
