WHITTIER (UKTN) – Crews were working to contain a brush fire that was burning in a washout in the Whittier Narrows area on Friday.
The Rosemead fire started around 1:10 p.m. near Rosemead Boulevard and Gallatin Road, according to Los Angeles County firefighters.

At 2:22 p.m., the fire had burned about five to six acres and was burning in medium to thick brush, moving northeast, the LA County fire said.

Rosemead Boulevard. was closed between San Gabriel Blvd. and Gallatin Road. because of the fire.
Los Angeles County and Montebello firefighters were on hand to control the flames.
No structure was immediately threatened.
