Electric car maker Tesla recently announced its first quarter production and sales figures, in which the company produced more than 1.8 lakh of the Model 3 and Model Y. The company has seen strong demand for the Model Y of the Chinese market. With sales figures now known, Tesla has sold more than one million units of the Model 3 and Model Y cumulatively until the end of March 2021.

The total number of Model 3 / Model Y stood at 10,74,046 units cumulatively through March 2021. In addition, the cumulative sales of Model X and Model S amount to more than 5 lakh. Previously, Tesla had crossed one million sales in April 2020.
The Model 3 is one of the US electric vehicle manufacturer’s best-selling electric cars, and it will soon hit one million in sales. The total number of Tesla electric vehicles on the road is over 1.5 million. At the current rate of hundreds of thousands of people per year, the EV maker is expected to cross the 2 million sales mark this year.

We already know that Tesla will officially enter the Indian market this year. The company is currently seeking locations to open showrooms in three Indian cities. Additionally, Tesla hired an executive to lead its business efforts ahead of its entry into India. The electric car maker registered a local business in the country in January, where it is expected to import and sell the Model 3 sedan as early as mid-2021, seeking to target wealthy customers in a niche market.
