Ahead of their rescheduled fifth Test against England, the Indian side will face Leicestershire in a four-day tour match, starting later on Thursday. The team led by Rohit Sharma arrived in England last week and are preparing in full swing for the highly anticipated Edgbaston Test. In a video shared by BCCI on their official Twitter account, the Indian players were seen sweating at the Uptonsteel Cricket Ground to prepare for the game. “The grind is on. #TeamIndia is sweating in the nets ahead of the rescheduled fifth #ENGvIND test,” BCCI said in the video.

While Rohit will lead the Indian team, former captain Virat Kohli is also set to return to action for the first time since the conclusion of the IPL 2022.
Rohit and Kohli had missed the recently concluded five-game T20I series against South Africa.
Interestingly, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna will play for the county team, managed by Sam Evans.
This will be the only warm-up match for the Indian side ahead of their rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston, starting July 1.

The fifth test was postponed last year due to a Covid outbreak in the Indian camp. India leads the series 2-1.
