The highly anticipated Aman New York will open on August 2

Aman New York has been one of the most anticipated hotel openings in years, and finally, there’s an official opening date. The new property at 57th Street and Fifth Avenue will open Aug. 2, with hotel reservations opening July 25.

The 83-suite property is located in the century-old Crown Building, reimagined by star architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston, with a hotel portfolio that includes Four Seasons, Cheval Blanc, St. Regis, Mandarin Oriental, as well as several Aman properties, such as Aman Venice and Amanzoe in Greece.

At Aman New York, the rooms are said to be some of the largest in New York. Calming, neutral interiors are inspired by Japanese minimalism, and each suite features bespoke murals by contemporary Japanese artist Ryoko Adachi, which pay homage to the Pine Trees Room Dividers, a pair of 15th-century six-panel room dividers by Hasegawa Tōhaku, one of the most important Japanese artists of the pre-Edo period and founder of the Hasegawa school of art. Each suite also has a working fireplace, which is a major draw. (No other hotel in New York can make the same claim.)

Guests can also enjoy a massive new spa, spanning three floors and nearly 25,000 square feet. The flagship wellness destination features an indoor pool, flanked by fire pits and daybeds, and 700 square feet of outdoor space. Additionally, Aman New York has 22 private residences, with access to one of Manhattan’s most incredible rooftop pools.

It will be Aman’s third property to come to the United States (following Utah’s popular Amangiri and Wyoming’s Amangani) and one of the brand’s few urban destinations. There are currently 33 Aman resorts, hotels and private residences worldwide; However, the brand plans to expand to 40 properties in 22 countries, with new additions in Mexico, Thailand and Japan.

The opening date of Aman New York was announced by press release.
