Travel of people: from Carpenter’s Schwebach to Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions; Mellor to the Credit and Political Risk Team at Miller


This People Moves International review details two recent appointments at Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions and insurance broker Miller, in Minneapolis and London, respectively.

Insurance broker Aon plc announced that Eric Schwebach has been appointed Senior Managing Director of Aon Reinsurance Solutions.

Focusing on managing major clients as well as generating new business, Schwebach will report to Trevor Dorr, Executive Managing Director of Reinsurance Solutions.

Based in Minneapolis, he comes from reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, where he was most recently senior vice president and a member of the company’s P&C treaty brokerage unit in North America. At Carpenter, Schwebach has served as an Account Manager and Senior Broker for several leading global and national insurance companies, with a focus on the real estate business lines.

Prior to Guy Carpenter, this 15-year industry veteran was part of the Chicago-based Aon Benfield customer development and production teams. He started his reinsurance career with Benfield in 2006.


Miller hired Farris Mellor to join its Credit and Political Risk Insurance (CPRI) team in London.

Having worked for some of the world’s largest financial services firms, Mellor brings with him an excellent knowledge of the banking industry and insurance solutions available to financial institutions, the London-based broker said in a statement.

At Miller, Mellor will help clients of financial institutions access responsive and effective CPRI solutions, supporting their growth objectives and providing essential protection when challenges arise.

While a director at Mizuho Bank, Mellor was responsible for selling loans and allocating unfunded risk, providing him with a unique insight into the most effective ways in which banks can adopt CPRI solutions – an insight that Miller customers will now be able to benefit.

“Farris’ in-depth knowledge of the needs of banking clients makes him an exciting addition to the Miller team. Customers will benefit from his understanding of how CPRI solutions can work for them and how banks can adopt best practices, ”commented Ben Gibbons, head of CPRI (London) at Miller.
