MINNEAPOLIS — The start time of the US Pond Hockey Championship has been delayed by a few hours due to poor ice conditions, organizers said Friday morning.
The tournament, originally scheduled to start at 9:15 am, now kicks off at 12:15 pm as crews work to clear Lake Nokomis slush.
“We’ve had teams working around the clock to get the rinks in the most playable condition. While Mother Nature hasn’t played super nice, we’re seeing dramatic improvement every hour,” the organization said in a Facebook post.
