BROOKLINE, Mass. – The day started on a strange foot for Justin Thomas. As he walked to the tee, the announcer introduced him as “Justin Thompson”.

Not a great look to get the world number. 5’s name is wrong.

Thomas no.

The 29-year-old decided he was in no danger (risking injury while playing the shot) and that it wasn’t hindering his swing in any way. So he played from where his ball came to rest. From an odd position, Thomas laid the turf on a corner in a bunker 50 yards from the green.

He was not happy.

“That’s what pisses me off, because so many other people would lie about being able to hit that, but it’s like I wouldn’t. That’s bulls***, man,” said Thomas after the shooting.
