In an update to the previous story on Daniel Bryan’s deal expiring, Dave Meltzer noted on the Wrestling Observer website that Bryan’s deal expired on Friday, but WWE is doing everything possible for him to sign a new agreement.
Again, just because his deal has expired doesn’t mean he’ll be signing with another company. Given that he is a major name that would be available for companies like All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling, one would have to assume that WWE is going to offer him a lot more money and that they would be more willing to get along. on reducing his schedule because he is upset and wants to spend more time with his family.
As previously reported, Bryan lost to Universal Champion Roman Reigns on SmackDown on Friday night, then was taken out of the storylines when Reigns attacked him with a chair. He is now “banned” from SmackDown but if he signs a new contract then the door is open to return to NXT or Raw.
